Why is a deep clean important?

 

 

Routine surface cleaning of your home and business facilities keeps the noticeable spaces looking pretty and clean on a daily basis. However, when you look closer, you become aware of dust, wall splatters, fingerprints, sticky places, stains and other unsavoury grime. In addition to grimy and dull areas you can see, invisible problems, such as germs, bacteria, and viruses, also lurk. The most effective and proactive approach to rid yourself of these risks is a regular deep cleaning regime. 

We would normally suggest a good deep cleaning scheduled quarterly.

What is the best method to conduct a deep cleaning?

The first and most important part when it comes to cleaning is to follow the instructions on whatever product you are using. Unfortunately when most people are cleaning with your typical household cleaner, they will spray the product onto the surface and almost immediately wipe it off with a damp cloth.

This is only dragging contaminants from one place to another.

In order for a product to work, it must be allowed the time to react with the dirt, grime and bacteria on the surface. Subsequently, using the same cloth that was used to clean one surface must be disinfected in bleach or any other strong disinfectant before reused to wipe down another surface, so as to mitigate the risk of cross-contamination.

When conducting a deep cleaning we use our product Safe Kleen, after sweeping away the surface contaminants, we spray the product over the surface and allow it to sit for 15 minutes. The longer the product is allowed to sit, the less effort will need to be made in order to clean the surface. 

​

It is also important what equipment is used to give the deep clean. If you are trying to remove grease, grime and oil with a mop or soft brush, you can spend all day scrubbing away and barely scratch the surface.  The most efficient way is using a hard bristle brush (as seen in the photo below) in order to scrub the surface, as it is the friction combined with the cleaning product that will give the best results.
